This is just a one-man site, and heaven knows I don’t know everything about Land Rovers and expeditions. I have my own experiences and opinions, but I expect that readers of this site would rather read more varied and interesting content.
This is why I invite anyone, with any Land Rover advice, whether it’s mechnical, equipment based, good expeditioning locations, good routes, hints, tips, articles – you name it, to contribute to the site. If it’s relevant to Land Rovers or expeditions, it’s useful to the site.
Why would I want to write for the site?
Personally, I’ve made this site as a knowledge base, and I know many Land Rover lovers online will buy into this. By writing for this site, I don’t necessarily mean sitting down for hours slaving over endless prose. You may have already written a guide on a forum in the past – a “How to” guide on something. If so, send it along and i’ll include it. Forum advice/guides/articles are exactly the type of thing I would like, albeit slightly reworded. Hopefully this website is able to collate all of this collective knowledge into a central location.
What do I get in return?
Specifically you get some adspace for a month and a link. Articles are cumulative, so if you write 5 articles, you will get 5 months of advertising space for free. You can already get a free link in the links section, but writing an article would mean you are shunted to a prominent position on every page.
You also retain the full copyright to your work and get full credit, so if you own a business, I am offering a piece of the internet that is completely written and sponsored by you!
What am I looking for?
It has to be either broadly Land Rover based, or specifically expedition based. This could be an
- An article about a technical procedure
- A “How to” guide
- Some advice about the best system/equipment to use
- Things to be aware of when expeditioning
- Good places to go on expedition
- Or maybe you have an opinion about something that you just have to air
But nothing like “driving off road in Scotland is great. We run reasonably priced off roading trips in Scotland….” etc
Guidelines
Basically:
- You have to have written what you are submitting
- You have to have taken any images submitted (unless they are royalty free, i.e from http://www.sxc.hu)
- If the content is the same as elsewhere on the web, we can paraphrase it so that the content is the same, but the wording is not (It stops Google penalising duplicated content)
- It should not be blatant advertising for your business
- Each author/company gets one area of advertising space only
- Supply a 135×135px image if you want to use your free adspace
