		<description>Hi Rupert

Profile design is the main reason, the inner edges are not deisgned to seal the rim to the tyre, my advice tho would be to stick with tubes even when not required, it is easier to repair a tube in the middle of nowhere than to repair a tyre with the pull through type of application, I also have a few customers that have used the &#039;in a can puncture repair kits&#039; that use a aerosol....funny enough, it seems to work better on tubes even though it&#039;s not designed for it! With tubeless type tyres, especially big ones like that of a Land Rover in hot climates, they seem to do more harm than good.

Regards

		<description>Hi,
I am in need of some information from a knowledgeable person. The old 1tonne or heavy duty wheels are said to be tube only where as the new Wolf wheels can run tubeless tyres. Does anyone know why the old ones will not run tubeless? Is it profile design for the tyre lip or the fact that they are riveted together. Can they be modified without too much fuss to accept tubeless tyres without the use of tubes. I have driven through Africa and Australia with tubes and just finished South America where I had a lot of punctures so am about to buy a new set of boots. I would love to lose the tubes.
Many thanks

		<description>Hi Ian

Seems like I got the two muddled up. I was always lead to believe the &#039;solid&#039; wheels were heavy duty, but the actual Land Rover website agrees with you.

Apologies for the mix up,
Will</description>

		<description>Hi,

Whilst reading with interest this section about essentials, I would like to comment about the &#039;heavy&#039; and &#039;standard&#039; duty steel wheels. The information I have is that the Heavy duty wheels are the ones with the holes punched in the center section of the wheel aka &#039;wolf wheels&#039; as issued on military Landrovers and heavy duty 110&#039;s and 130&#039;s. These have a 6.5 inch width as with the older 1 ton wheels which where also known as &#039;heavy duty&#039;. Incidentally, I had weighed both types some time ago, out of curiosity, and they both have the same weight ie. 15kg
