The Gearbox of Land Rovers over the years have undergone gradual stages of improvement, through from partial syncromeshed 4 speed gearboxes, right up to the current fully syncrohmeshed 6 speed gearboxes.
The ratios also gradually widened with first getting lower, and top gear getting higher.

- LT77S: 1991+
- LT77: 1984+
- LT85 – 5spd, 110/90 V8 & Range Rover
- LT95 – 4spd, Range Rover til 1984
