Land Rover Defender 1994
The Defender went through a big revamp this year with a completely new engine and gearbox.
The 300Tdi engine retained the capacity of the 200Tdi, but included over 200 improvements and refinements. This resulted in a few more HP and less noise, at the expense of some effciency.
The R380 gearbox featured the first fully syncromeshed gears and greatly improved the feel of gear changing, and not least had a more tough design.
