Land Rover Defender 1999
The big change for 1999 was the development of the Td5 engine, which replaced the 300Tdi in all models made for Europe. The 300Tdi was still produced as an option outside of Europe and North America until 2006.
The Land Rover Defender retained the R380 gearbox and added a new LT230Q Transfer box for quieter running and greater efficiency.
